| Bio: | ![]() Full Name: Quinlan Hyde Date of Birth and/or Age: 38, September 29th 1829 Sexual Preference: heterosexual Ethnic Background: Irish (Mother)-English (Father) Occupation: Quinlan works at MacNamara Press and Co., the town's press. He spends day after day printing the town's paper, etc. He was hired on as a helping hand doing odd jobs here and there when he was about 14 and eventually made it to Senior Press Advisor/ Manager when the previous manager passed away. Family: Quinlan's parents have long since passed on. His mother passed away after catching a horrible bout of influenza on the voyage over from Ireland and his father died not too long ago simply of old age. He has a younger sister who took off with an older man several years back, but the last he heard, she left him for a Frenchman. Current Residence: Quinlan currently resides in the town in a room above The Press Company. Appearance: Quinlan has dark brown hair and brown eyes, he has an average build, a tad shorter than most men at a mere 5'8", he's a little dapper fellow that prefers his tailored three-piece suits, his bowler hat, and his pocket watch to anything else. He also wears his glasses quite often. Though, he doesn't need them to see everything, they help. Personality: While Quinlan is a very simple man, he can also be among the most complex. He has always been more of a one-on-one type of person, and if it's just you and him, you are gauranteed his undivided attention. He's a Gentleman, really; he was raised with manners and to respect other citizens and people of the town. He can also be a shy man, but once you can pull him out of his shell, he has absolutely no qualms about talking with you. To be honest, Quinlan has a fear of Indians and has always had a fear of indians. It isn't that they ever did anything to him or anyone he knows, he's just heard and read stories and his imagination seems to have gotten the better of him. He's slightly shy, but does speak up every now and again; He has trouble when it comes to wooing the ladies which explains why he's never been married or called on anyone, at that. He leads somewhat of a lonely life, but makes it a point to know everyone in town. Of course he longs for companionship and a family, but with his sheepish ways he thinks it's hardly possible at this point. Special Skills/Weapons Used: He's actually very good at horseback riding. And surprisingly so, he's a good cook. He has a gun.. knows how to use it.. but he's slightly terrified of them. Weaknesses: Quinlan isn't the best sharpshooter in the west. He gets incredibly nervous when it comes to guns and women of interest. So he definitely could use some help in those areas. Bio:Quinlan Hyde was born to James Hyde and Kate McGowan-Hyde on September 29th, 1829. He is the oldest of two children, his younger sister was born 2 years after when the Hyde family was still residing in Ballyshannon, Ireland. When Quinlan was ten years of age, his father decided to pack the family up and move them to America. On their journey to the old west, Kate McGowan-Hyde caught a terrible influenza and never made it to America, leaving James Hyde to raise his two children by himself. Luckily the two were fairly old enough to mostly take care of themselves, and Quinlan was, of course, very protective of his younger sister. After school, Quinlan constantly pleaded with his father's friend to let him work at the Press, and eventually when he was around the age of fourteen, Mr. MacNamara let Quinlan work around the shop doing little odd jobs here and there. Mostly sweeping and dusting and cleaning the machine. Occasionally he delivered papers, and when there wasn't anything to do, Mr. MacNamara was gracious enough to teach Quinlan how to work the machines. It wasn't too long before Quinlan was promoted, and then promoted again, and later he inherited the MacNamara Press Co. when Mr. MacNamara passed away. Just before their father passed away, Quinlan's sister decided to run off with an older man, most likely the Jesse James type, and hasn't returned since. Although, Quinlan has recieved an occasional letter from her and the last he heard, she had left her older Gang Leader boyfriend and taken up with a Frenchman. James Hyde passed away a little over two years ago and left the family's small portion of land and his life savings to his son, Quinlan. Quinlan has routinely gone about his life working and working, and working some more. But now that he owns the Press Company, and has his fairly decent sized inheritance from his father, he has some time to actually relax, sit back, and enjoy life. Not that he really wants to quit working at the job he loves so much or that he's entirely sure how to do that. Although, he thinks the brothel might be a good place to start....
